Description:
The Piston Skirt helps to reduce friction between the piston and the cylinder wall by providing a smooth surface for the piston to slide against. It is typically located at the bottom of the piston, just above the piston pin. It extends down into the cylinder and is in contact with the cylinder wall as the piston moves up and down.
Attributes:
• Support the piston as it moves up and down in the cylinder, preventing it from wobbling
• Preventing it from overheating and causing damage to the engine
Applications:
The Piston Skirt is used in pistons to provide a seal in the combustion chamber, this is mostly used in Cat 24H Motor Grader, 320, 5110 and 775 3406B, 3406C, 3412, 3412, 3412C, 3412C, 3412E and G3412, 3412 Engine (Piston), 3412, 3412, 3412C, 3412C, G3412, G3412, 3412 and PM3412 Generator Set, 5100X, 5110 and 5110B Excavators, 591 Pipelayer, 651B, 651E and 657E Wheel Tractor Scrapers, 651E and 657E Scraper, 73D, 772B, 772D, 773, 773B, 773D, 773E, 775B, 775D and 775E Truck, 772 Wagon, 844 Wheel Type Tractors, 966G, 990, 992C and 992D Wheel Loader, C27 Engine-General Platform (C27), D10N, D10R and D9L Track Type Tractor, PR-1000, PR-1000C, PR-750B and PR-750C Paving Equipment, SCT673, SPS342 and SPT342 Pumper, Cement Trucks
